About Me

It's my goal to create a comfortable, safe environment, where we'll work to achieve the goal together
I have been serving Central Illinois for nearly 20 years as a therapist and community leader. In 2012, I was honored to be chosen by IBI Magazine as a recipient for a Forty Leaders Under 40 Award for my service and dedication to helping children and families. Wholeness is my passion for everyone I serve and that is why I chose the name “Whole Life Solutions, LLC” for our private practice. I believe we all desire to be healthy, healed, and whole, but life can get in the way. Events and experiences throughout our lives shape us biologically, relationally, socially, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. At times they can overwhelm us with happiness and hope or sorrow and hopelessness or just lead us to want to numb our feelings in any way we can find. Life can be beautifully messy and sometimes we just need some help to sort it all out. We may hold tightly to false beliefs about our self-worth or the value of others. We reel with negative thoughts and emotions that tear us apart at our core. Our relationships may be toxic or feel beyond repair. The way we deal with it all may be destructive. All in an attempt to alleviate the pain.

My job is to partner with you in finding your better path towards healing, health, and wholeness in every area of your life and to empower you to move forward.

I remain deeply committed to raising awareness about the long term impact of abuse, not only on the health and stability  of children and families, but on the community as a whole.  I am certified as a Clinical Trauma and Loss Consultant by the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children and as an instructor in Psychological First Aid.  I also started the “Mental Health Matters” community education program of the Mental Health Association on Illinois Valley, and partnered with Columbia University to bring the “Teen Screen” Suicide Prevention Program to the area as the first site in Illinois.

I was one of 15 therapists in the world to train in 2011 with Dr. Bruce Perry, an international child trauma expert. Dr. Perry led the treatment and recovery for children and families following the Branch Dividian Compound invasion, Columbine School Schootings, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, 9/11, Sandy Hook Shootings, and so much more. I have a vast range of experience in treating children and adults with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Developmental Trauma, infertility and loss of pregnancy, chronic or terminal illness and end of life concerns, grief and loss, marriage restoration and repair following an affair, attachment disorders, behavioral issues, addiction recovery, gay and lesbian issues, transgender issues, general mental health and so much more.

I am also certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Beyond Consequences Parenting Program, Psychological First Aid, and am trained in the Total Transformation Parenting Program, and much more. I have trained thousands of people within child welfare, law enforcement, school administrators and educators, corporate professionals, church and parachurch professionals, and can tailor training to whatever you may need. It would be my honor to help you in any way that I can.
